Columbus County Schools is seeking funding for an eastern school campus after being turned down for a 36 million dollar grant earlier this year.

“We’re serious about a school on the eastern end of the county,” Associate Superintendent Jonathan Williams.

The school could serve up too almost 1,000 students grade PreK-8, taking in the students from Hallsboro Artesia Elementary, Acme Delco Elementary, And East Columbus Jr/Sr High schools newly formed middle school branch.

Due to inflation, the developer recommends the county seeks for about 40 million in funding.
