Whiteville Police Department Offers Daily “Check In’s” for Residents

Via Whiteville Police:

The Whiteville Police Department is now offering free daily phone check-ins for older adults, disabled individuals, and shut-ins who live alone within the city limits.

Through our “We Call, We Care” program, Chief Rockenbach or a WPD team member will call participants every day between 8–11 a.m. to ensure they’re safe and well. If there’s no answer after 3 tries, we’ll contact a listed key holder. If needed, an officer will be sent to check in person.

If you’re not going to be home during your scheduled call, please leave a message at 910-642-5111 with your name and dates away.

If you’re hospitalized, we ask that someone notify us using the same number.

This program is not a replacement for Lifeline or emergency alert systems — we encourage using both for added peace of mind.

To sign up, you’ll need to complete a short form with contact and medical info and list two key holders. Forms are available online. Call 910-642-5111 for help.
