The Columbus County Sherrif’s Office announced that 2 suspects have now been charged in shootings that caused property damage in Tabor City
From CCSO, On December 26, 2024, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting into an occupied dwelling on Reynolds Road in the Tabor City community. The Criminal Investigations Division has since identified and charged two suspects in connection with the incident.
Deputies were dispatched following a report of threats and gunfire at the residence. Upon arrival, deputies discovered multiple bullet holes throughout the home. The investigation revealed that several individuals were inside the residence at the time of the shooting but were unharmed. Evidence collected at the scene included shell casings found both inside and outside the home.
Investigators determined that Treavon Smith and another suspect, identified as Shykeem Newman, were involved in the incident. Both suspects have been charged, and additional charges are anticipated as the investigation progresses.

• Shykeem Newman was apprehended on January 8, 2025, with the assistance of Horry County authorities. He faces multiple charges, including Felony Flee to Elude in a Motor Vehicle. During his apprehension, Mr. Newman was found in possession of a stolen firearm.
