Update: Carolina Green, 16, has now been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.

Misty Cribb, 35, of Clarendon died Monday morning when she was struck head on by a Jeep on Peacock road in the Beaverdam community around 7:45 am.

The driver of the Jeep was Carolina Green, 16, of Chadbourn. Sgt. K. McVicker with the State Highway Patrol said Green crossed the centerline. Cribb moved over to the right shoulder to avoid her, but was struck head on. There is no evidence of distracted or impaired driving, more information is awaited as the accident is being investigated by Highway Patrol.

Cribb was pronounced dead at the scene. Green was taken to CRHS with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cribb’s 5 year old daughter, and a 12 year old boy were taken to Novant NHRMC, the girl was then transferred to UNC with severe injuries as according to her family.

A plate sale in memory of Ms. Cribb has been organized to help raise funds.
