Operation “Dropped Call”
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Division concluded a extensive investigation into the distribution of illegal substances into the Columbus County Detention Center. During the course of this investigation nine people have been charged with over forty felonies.
Among those charged were, Notorious Taylor is charged with the following: Four counts of Felony Conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Bobby Toon was also charged with four counts of Felony Conspiracy.
Semaj Bethea was charged with four counts of Felony Conspiracy.
Mark Anthony Nelson was charged with four counts of Felony Conspiracy.
Curtis Gowans was charged with four counts of Felony Conspiracy, PWIMSD Schedule I Controlled Substance, PWIMSD Schedule II Controlled Substance, PWIMSD Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Veh/Dwell/Place for the sale of a controlled substance, and providing an inmate with tobacco products.
Savanah Willis was charged with PWISD Schedule 1 Controlled Substance, PWISD Schedule II Controlled Substance, PWISD Schedule VI Controlled Substance, four counts of Felony Conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance on jail/prison premises, and felony littering of hazardous waste.
Latonya Willis was also charged with three counts of Felony Conspiracy, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Christopher Taylor was charged with three counts of Felony Conspiracy.
Sheldon Garrett Barnes was charged with PWIMSD Schedule VI Controlled Substance, PWIMSD Schedule III Controlled Substance, Three Counts of Felon Conspiracy, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/ Place for the sale of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
This investigation is ongoing, and more charges are to be expected. This investigation involved countless hours of work and due diligence by our investigators
It is the goal of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office to eliminate harmful narcotics not only from our streets but our Detention Facilities.
