Columbus County, NC – The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate shooting incidents involving a juvenile and an adult victim that occurred within hours of each other.
Railroad Street Shooting Leaves Juvenile Wounded
On the evening of November 4, 2024, around 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to a call at 357 Railroad Street SW, where a juvenile had sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the head. The young victim, who was alert and responsive at the scene, was immediately transported to Columbus Regional Healthcare by Cerro Gordo Fire & Rescue. Witnesses in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots, and detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances and identify those involved.
Early Morning Gunfire on Old Boardman Road Injures Local Resident
Around 2:00 a.m. on November 5, 2024, deputies were dispatched to Columbus Regional Healthcare after reports that an individual had arrived with gunshot wounds sustained on Old Boardman Road. The victim suffered injuries to both legs. Initial reports suggest a possible altercation involving known individuals. Deputies are following leads and working to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
