Brunswick Mayor Jason Elleby debunked claims in an online post by Facebook user Andy Powell that immigrants had been dropped off in the town.

The Facebook video showed a man recording people walking down a road from his vehicle as he drove down the road.

Mayor Jason Elleby released the following statement on Saturday:

“I have been contacted multiple times via phone calls and text messages regarding a video circulating on Facebook depicting a bus supposedly dropping off immigrants. I want to clarify that this information is not accurate. The individuals in the video are actually employees of Dreamland Amusement, who are working at the fair. Personally, I visited the site and interacted with these individuals. Before passing judgment, let us make an effort to inquire and seek understanding.

He followed the statement with, “FYI, THE BUS BROKE DOWN”.

The video has since been deleted.
