Ahead of tropical weather expected in the area tomorrow, Columbus County Schools has called for a remote learning schedule for students and staff on Friday the 27th. Whiteville High School will have an optional teacher workday Friday.

Columbus County School’s statement:

“Due to the potential for hazardous weather, Columbus County Schools will conduct Remote Instruction on  Friday, September 27th,  2024. This applies to both students and staff.  Schools will provide details regarding assignments.  

Extracurricular activities will continue as planned on Thursday.  All extracurricular activities for Friday are canceled.”

Whiteville City School’s statement:

“Due to safety concerns with bus transportation, Friday, September 27th will now be an optional teacher workday and no school for students. There will be no sports practices or activities on Friday, September 27, 2024.

The required workday originally scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024, will now be a regular scheduled school day for students and staff. Please stay safe!”
