Update: This advisory has been canceled

“Please be advised that East Columbus Jr-Sr High School is under a low pressure/boil water advisory from this evening, March 5th, at 10:00 PM, until March 21st at 10:00 PM.

During this time, it is important not to use the school’s water for drinking, cooking, washing hands, or brushing teeth unless it has been brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute. You can find more information about boiling water safely at https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/emergency/drinking/drinking-water-advisories/boil-water-advisory.html.

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we have taken the following steps:

– Water, ice, and hand sanitizer have been delivered to the school and will be readily available during the advisory.
– Restrooms will remain open, but handwashing should NOT be done. Use hand sanitizer.
– Water fountains will be covered to prevent use.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as soon as possible when the advisory is lifted.”
