West Columbus High School will honor student Brady Mercer, who tragically lost his life late last month after being murdered by his father, Matthew Hall Mercer on Sept. 29.

The West Columbus High School Viking EndZone club said earlier this week on facebook,

“First and foremost, please continue to keep Brady Mercer’s family in your thoughts and prayers. We also ask to please continue to look out for all these kids that are around us. If you ever see something that doesn’t feel quite right, PLEASE tell someone. We all need to come together to make sure something like this never happens again.

We will host 2A South Columbus this Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm, but PLEASE arrive early. Gates will open at 6:00pm. We will also honor the memory of Brady Mercer that night. This team deserves to see another large AND loud crowd there to support them Friday…”

Mercer has been charged with murder and is being held under without bail.
