Jesse E. Beck Named New Columbus County Schools Assistant Superintendent

During the August meeting, the Board of Education chose Dr. Williams’ replacement from a field of excellent candidates. Mr. Jesse E. Beck II was named the new assistant superintendent.

During his 27 years in our system, Mr. Beck has served as teacher and coach (WCHS, 1996-2007); assistant principal (CMS, 2007-2010); principal (CMS 2010-2011 and SCHS 2011-2016); and EC Director (2016-2023). Mr. Beck obtained an Ed.S degree from East Carolina University. He will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. In addition, his strong relationships, calm demeanor, and tireless work ethic will help move our district forward. When asked about his new position, he responded:

“I am truly honored and humbled to be named the Assistant Superintendent of Columbus County Schools. I am profoundly grateful to have this opportunity to serve all of our children in this capacity. I am also mindful of the tremendous responsibility that comes with this position. I will continue to serve all stakeholders and will strive to uphold the values and meet the expectations that exist in my new role.”
